2023 AFRICA CULTURE AND PRODUCTS EXHIBITION
The 2023 Africa Culture and Products Exhibition hosted by ATEF was held at Taipei Yuanshan Exp Park on the 2ndSeptember, 2023 from 11:00 am to 17:00 pm.
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Eswatini, Eswatini students together with other African countries come together to display products from our countries. The event was well attended with many interested in purchasing our products. The Eswatini students also displayed their talent in doing the Traditional dance which left those watching wanting more.
The Embassy in collaboration with the Africa Taiwan Economic Forum (ATEF) joined other African countries namely; Republic of South Africa Trade Representative Office, Nigerian Trade Office and the Republic of Somaliland Trade Office at an exhibition showcasing African Products, Culture and Services.
The event, African Culture, Products and Services Exhibition is one of the Embassy’s key events where we do Tourism, and Trade Promotion. The Embassy Exhibited products from the Swazi Market Crafts, Ngwenya Glass, Tintsaba, Imbali Gin, Swazi Secrets, Eswatini Kitchen, Green Mamba, Rhodes Foods, Eswatini Leather products, to mention but a few.
Taiwanese business people were able to also exhibit Eswatini products that they have imported into Taiwan as a result of the Economic Cooperation Agreement between Taiwan and Eswatini. This event included performances by students from the Kingdom of Eswatini, Republic of South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania where Emaswati students studying in Taiwan came together to perform contemporary African dances with Eswatini music to promote our culture and tourism. Eswatini students in Taiwan continue to play an important role in promoting our culture by reaching areas the Embassy cannot and teaching different elementary school around the country about Eswatini culture.
The Embassy supports the students by loaning them the traditional attire to be used in their exhibition. This has been very useful in making Eswatini gain positive popularity in Taiwan, especially amongst the youth. However, due to lack of sufficient budget, we are unable to display the full Eswatini attire for our males in the office. We depend on Emaswati in Taiwan for the full male attire and the Swati wife attire. We kindly request the Head Office to assist us in getting material (brochures, pamphlets and digital material) to promote the country’s tourism sector in exhibitions.
